Degree in Architecture Fundamentals

The profession of Architect enjoys great tradition and social prestige in Spain. For this reason, and attending to the need for professionals in the sector in a highly populated region and with an important residential tourism sector, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena introduced in the 2008-2009 academic year the title of Graduate in Architecture, which according to regulations effective at that time enables the exercise of the profession. In this way, the catalog of professional titles in the field of construction offered by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena was completed, making it possible to take advantage of both the experience acquired and the existing human and material resources.

Subsequent to the implementation of the plan currently in force, the Council of Ministers Agreement of July 30, 2010 was approved, establishing the conditions to which the study plans leading to obtaining qualifications for the exercise of the regulated profession of Architect and Ministerial Order EDU 2075/2010, of July 29, 2010, which establishes the requirements for the verification of the official university degrees that enable the exercise of the profession of Architect.

These provisions require as a requirement for the exercise of the profession of Architect the passing of an enabling Master of 60 ECTS, but to access said Master it is necessary to be in possession of a Bachelor's degree with a load of 300 ECTS that does not directly enable for the exercise of the profession.
